KNOXVILLE, Tennessee — Pilot, the largest network of travel centers in North America, has announced the opening of a new electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging station at its Lufkin location at 1920 E. Denman Ave., providing local EV drivers with easy access to its coast-to-coast charging network.
"Creating exceptional experiences for our guests — whether in our stores, at the pumps or at our charging stations — is at the heart of everything we do," said Scott Hundley, director of light duty EV and infrastructure at Pilot. "Giving EV drivers another option to meet their charging needs enables us to provide the same convenience, access and reliability that non-EV drivers have come to expect during their commutes and on road trips."
The new site features six 350 kW fast-charging stalls to get EV drivers charged up and back on their journeys. While charging, EV drivers can enjoy Pilot’s array of amenities, including free Wi-Fi, public laundry, clean restrooms and showers and 24/7 staff support, as well as Pilot’s mobile food ordering and fresh food offerings, including Pilot eats menu items, hundreds of beverages and grab-and-go snacks and favorites from Cinnabon and Moe’s Southwest Grill.
Now through Sept. 1, guests can take advantage of Pilot’s meal deals to save on fresh food offerings. Pilot’s new breakfast meal deal includes any Pilot breakfast burrito and C4 Energy drink for $6. For lunch and later, guests can purchase two slices of Pilot pizza and one 20-ounce bottled Pepsi-Cola for $8.
Pilot now has 150 EV charging stations at 36 locations across the state of Texas. In collaboration with General Motors and EVgo, more than 300 EV charging locations are now operating nationwide, connecting EV drivers to a network along major corridors and eliminating range anxiety.
