Over the past week, Russians have launched more than 2,300 attack drones, almost 1,560 guided aerial bombs, and 108 missiles of various types against Ukrainians, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported.
"All these strikes are aimed at ordinary civilian infrastructure – residential buildings, energy facilities. Every day we work to increase protection against Russian terror. Yesterday we received a new IRIS-T launcher. We thank Germany for its constant contribution to protecting people. Thousands and thousands of lives have been saved thanks to such strong support. But we also need missiles for air defense systems to have sufficient capabilities to repel Russian attacks," Zelenskyy wrote on his Telegram channel on Sunday.
In addition, he noted that this week there are also significant agreements with Sweden – a new support package, including strengthening Ukrainian aviation with Gripen fighter jets.
"The PURL program has new contributions this year, and support for this initiative must continue. We count on both the United States and European partners. Anti-ballistic protection is one of the key priorities for Ukraine," the president emphasized.
He stressed that strong air defense can provide more protection for our people and deprive Russia of its last advantage.
"I thank all partners who help, who are ready to respond effectively to Moscow's attempts to expand and escalate its war. It is very important that they understand: choosing war will have consequences. I am grateful to everyone who stands with Ukraine," Zelenskyy concluded.
