Russian Missile Strike Kills Ten Near Kyiv

A Russian ballistic missile strike on a facility near Kyiv killed ten people and injured dozens, Ukrainian officials reported.

In the Bucha district of the Kyiv region, emergency rescue operations have been completed at the site of a Russian missile strike. The death of ten people has been confirmed.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kyiv region reported this.

"As a result of the attack, 10 people died, and dozens more were injured," the statement reads.

Earlier, Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko reported that about 100 people sustained injuries of varying severity.

Rescuers extinguished fires in three private residential buildings and eight cars. In addition, the strike damaged 23 private houses, two hotels, a restaurant, and 34 cars.


Recall that on July 24, Russia attacked a facility in the Kyiv region with a ballistic missile, where representatives of the Ukrainian defense industry were present at that time. According to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, the strike hit the territory of a private training ground in the Bucha district.

As stated by the spokesman of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Lykhovii, the facility in the Kyiv region that Russia targeted with a ballistic strike is not under the management of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. The General Staff emphasized that during such events, all risks must be considered and shelters should be used.

The Office of the Prosecutor General is conducting procedural oversight in criminal proceedings under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — violation of the laws and customs of war. At the same time, another criminal proceeding has been initiated under Part 3 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. It concerns possible improper performance of official duties during the organization and conduct of the event, which led to deaths and other grave consequences.
