Executive Director leads mission to clear legacy liabilities and lay capital foundation for future growth
From resolving over 2.111 billion baht in liabilities to striking an asset-unlocking deal worth over 2.45 billion baht, STELLA has engineered a sharp financial turnaround. Reversing a 152-million-baht loss into a 57-million-baht net profit within a single quarter, the company’s leadership announced it has not merely returned to the black but is actively converting former encumbrances into fresh liquidity and a strong capital base for the future.
Driving back to profitability
Nuttpasint Chet-udomlap, Executive Director of STELLA, highlighted the company's shift from carrying legacy burdens to extracting genuine business value. A central pillar of this turnaround is the planned disposition of land and structures within the Legend Siam project, valued at over 2.45 billion baht.
Beyond a standard property sale, the transaction serves as a major financial restructuring. Management successfully negotiated a haircut on legacy construction liabilities, reducing total obligations from over 2.111 billion baht down to 1.5 billion baht. The deal paves the way for STELLA to settle outstanding commitments, inject liquidity and convert dispute-tied assets back into productive operational resources.
Resolving liabilities to fund growth
For STELLA, the immediate objective was optimising existing holdings—most notably Legend Siam and its associated financial liabilities.
Alongside the property disposition, the company secured a 225-million-baht loan repayment, channelling stagnant assets back into liquid capital for future deployment. The move reflects management's core strategy during this transitional phase: assets must actively yield business benefits rather than simply remain on the balance sheet.
From loss to profit
The 209-million-baht quarterly performance swing marks STELLA's first profitable quarter in a decade. However, management views the 57-million-baht net profit as merely an initial indicator of deeper structural progress.
To ensure long-term value creation, the board is executing a two-tiered strategy:
- Repair: Settle outstanding disputes, trim high-cost debt and maximise balance-sheet flexibility.
- Rebuild: Reallocate reclaimed capital and operational resources into scalable, high-yield expansion opportunities.
Beyond the quarterly figures
The financial impact of unlocking Legend Siam extends past the second quarter. Under the terms of the transaction, STELLA expects to receive an additional 1.225 billion baht in sale proceeds by the end of 2026, establishing a strong cash reserve for its next expansion phase.
With legacy issues being resolved, the next question for the market is how STELLA will turn the reclaimed capital and resources into its next phase of growth.
