The calendar discrepancy and strict regulations in the Ministry of National Education's (MEB) summer period assignment process are leaving thousands of teachers at risk of being separated from their families. Especially educators whose spouses work in the private sector face losing their rights due to the 360-day premium requirement. The mismatch in the Social Security Institution's (SGK) notification calendar deepens this problem.
360-Day Premium Requirement Not Sufficient
MEB requires 360 days of premiums in the last two years for family unity reassignment. However, these premiums must be completed in the province where the transfer is requested. Teachers whose spouses change jobs lose their application rights.
June Premiums Not Visible in the System
The most critical aspect of the problem is the calendar mismatch between MEB and SGK. The last notification date for June premiums to SGK is July 25. Since the MEB application screen closes before this date, the premiums are not visible in the system.
Applications Rejected Despite Documentation
Teachers prove that their spouses are actively working with official documents. Nevertheless, because the premiums are not reflected in the system, the 360-day condition is considered incomplete. Family unity applications are rejected or cancelled. Teachers are expecting an urgent regulation and calendar synchronization from the ministry.
