Pai again accuses Su Chiao-hui of conflict of interest, demands immediate resignation and withdrawal from election; DPP caucus: baseless rumor

The Taiwan People's Party (TPP) caucus held a press conference today (9th) questioning that Su Chiao-chun, the younger sister of DPP New Taipei City mayoral candidate and legislator Su Chiao-hui, has been receiving subsidies year after year since 2023 when she became CEO of a brand under Weiru Company. They alleged that Su Chiao-hui's support for the Ministry of Culture's budget was because the brand intended to apply for subsidies, and that this profiteering should immediately resign as legislator and announce withdrawal from the election. In response, DPP caucus deputy secretary-general Wu Pei-yi said that fact-checking is very important before making accusations, and that this is completely a baseless rumor. Su Chiao-chun is not the responsible person, not a shareholder, has no investment, and holds no title or position in Weiru Company.

TPP caucus convener Chen Ching-lung today (9th) along with fellow party councilor candidates Lin Zi-yu and Chen Yi-jun held a press conference titled "Su Chiao-hui Family Alchemy Part 2: Revealing Su Chiao-hui's Profiteering Evidence," questioning that Su Chiao-chun, the younger sister of Su Chiao-hui, has been receiving subsidies year after year since 2023 when she became CEO of akaSwap, a brand under Weiru Technology Co., Ltd.
Lin Zi-yu claimed that on January 20, 2025, when the Legislative Yuan reviewed the central government's 114 annual total budget, Su Chiao-hui posted on social media to support the Ministry of Culture's "Gathering Taiwanese Cultural Black Tide" budget, stating that the opposition wanted to destroy many industries related to people's livelihoods, and calling for "God bless Taiwan." However, the fact is that Su Chiao-hui's post supporting the Ministry of Culture's budget was precisely because the budget was for a subsidy that akaSwap, where Su Chiao-chun serves as CEO, intended to apply for. On akaSwap's Instagram, it blatantly states "Receiving Ministry of Culture Black Tide XR Immersive Video Creation Subsidy." This is outright profiteering.
Chen Yi-jun criticized that Su Chiao-hui is no longer qualified to serve as a legislator. Her actions of supporting the Ministry of Culture's budget and profiteering for Su Chiao-chun have exceeded the authority of a legislator. Instead of supervising the budget for the people, she has allowed public funds to flow into her own family's pockets, treating the national treasury as her personal coffers. Such an incompetent legislator should not continue to draw a national salary, should know when to advance or retreat, immediately resign as legislator and announce withdrawal from the election, and honestly face the scrutiny of the people.
DPP caucus secretary-general Chuang Jui-hsiung, party secretary Fan Yun, and deputy secretary-general Wu Pei-yi held a public opinion response press conference today. Wu Pei-yi stated that during the election period, different camps will raise various questions, and every candidate must of course be subject to public scrutiny.
Wu Pei-yi pointed out that before making accusations, fact-checking is very important. The TPP and Li Sichuan's camp's allegations about Weiru Company are completely baseless rumors. This is all public information that can be checked. Su Chiao-chun is not the responsible person, not a shareholder, has no investment, and holds no title or position in Weiru Company.
"What kind of company is Weiru Company? It is a company specializing in providing technical services," Wu Pei-yi said. Not every cooperation with Weiru Company constitutes an affiliated enterprise. Weiru Company just won a bid from Taitung County Government in June. This public information is available on public websites. "We would not say that Weiru Company got the bid from a KMT-governed county because of its relationship with the KMT or someone in the KMT." The DPP caucus would not make such allegations or improper connections.
Wu Pei-yi hopes that everyone must verify the information clearly. This is entirely a baseless rumor. She urges for a decent election culture. Su Chiao-chun herself is an excellent interactive design designer, known among experts and designers in this field.
Wu Pei-yi also noted that recently, New Taipei City Mayor Hou You-yi gave an award at the city government. The New Taipei City Agriculture Bureau recently held a North Coast Art Festival event that won a silver award from the American MUSE Creative Awards. And this award, Su Chiao-chun has won before, not just once; Su Chiao-chun has won the gold award from the American MUSE Creative Awards four times.
Wu Pei-yi believes that such performance is recognized in the field and has objective indicators and evaluations. These are international awards. She asked, "You wouldn't say that Su Chiao-chun won these international creative art awards because of Su Chiao-hui, would you?" She called for objective evaluation. If Su Chiao-chun has any relationship with Weiru Company, please provide data and evidence. "I repeat, this is completely a baseless rumor."
Finally, Wu Pei-yi expressed hope that Li Sichuan would face society's scrutiny. "We find it strange that every time Li Sichuan is accused or questioned—for example, when his brother pleaded guilty in court to an environmental racketeering case—Li Sichuan comes out to accuse Su Chiao-hui of defamation. When there is controversy over the down payment for Li Sichuan's luxury home, he holds a press conference or has his camp hold a press conference to smear Su Chiao-hui. But he has not been able to properly respond to the questions about himself."
Wu Pei-yi believes that smearing others does not remove the public's doubts about him. He should face social scrutiny head-on. This is the information everyone hopes to obtain about each candidate during the election.
