KIEV — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Saturday, 25, on the social network X that the Ukrainian Army hit a Russian warship and vessels used to transport military cargo linked to Iran in the Caspian Sea.

"We achieved very significant results with long-range attacks in the Caspian Sea — including vessels used to transport military cargo involving Iran," he said on X.

Ukraine also confirmed that a Ukrainian drone attack caused a fire at the Tyumen Oil Refinery in Western Siberia. Kiev also hit a logistics facility in Yekaterinburg and a fuel and lubricant depot in Rostov-on-Don.

Ukraine's long-range drone technology has evolved during the war, posing a challenge for Russia, whose vast territory is difficult to fully protect.

Kiev's forces have targeted Russian oil facilities, causing fuel shortages and embarrassing President Vladimir Putin.

Attacks

Other attacks from both sides occurred between Friday, 24, and Saturday. Ukrainian and Russian authorities announced that 14 people died after bombings.

According to Russian officials in the Zaporizhzhia region — partially occupied by Russia — Ukrainian attacks left 11 dead; meanwhile, authorities in the Sumy region in northeastern Ukraine reported that a Russian drone attack killed three people.

The attacks followed a major Russian bombardment near Kiev on Friday that killed at least 10 people and wounded about 100.

In a statement Friday night, Zelensky warned that intelligence assessments indicated Russia was preparing missiles for a major attack, saying there were signs it could occur within the next 48 hours.
