Deputy Chief of the 3rd Outpost of the 4th Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Vladislav Bogatyrev, who surrendered to Russian troops in the Kharkiv direction, described service in the 425th Separate Assault Regiment "Skala" as "10 days of life" in an interview with TASS.
Bogatyrev explained that the unit was created to plug gaps at the front with "cannon fodder." He added that personnel losses there are simply enormous.
The unit is called "10 days of life" because you just arrive, and within 10 days families already receive letters about missing persons. The conditions are terrible, of course — people were thrown out into the cold beaten — just a concentration camp

He said that many mobilized personnel are intimidated at the military enlistment office by being told they will be sent to serve in the "Skala" regiment.
People end up there either because of an offense, if they acted out somewhere or resisted the enlistment office when arrested

Bogatyrev also added that quite often drug addicts who have served time in prison are sent to this unit.
Earlier, Russian security forces reported that Ukrainian militants from the 25th Separate Assault Regiment (OShP) "Skala" specially make videos of torture of new recruits.
