(Stacker) - AAA motor club says this month is on pace to set the highest gas prices on record.
The national average for unleaded gas reached $4.11 per gallon Friday. It’s up over 3 cents from a week ago, almost a dime higher than a month ago, and just shy of a dollar more than gas cost a year ago.
The EPA issued an emergency waiver this week, allowing producers to help bring prices down. It lets producers stop making summer-blend gasoline on Sept. 1, ahead of schedule.
Stacker compiled statistics on gas prices in Wisconsin using data from AAA. Gas prices are as of August 21.
