On the morning of June 26, President Xi Jinping met with Prime Minister Tarique of Bangladesh, who is on an official visit to China, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The two leaders jointly announced the building of a China-Bangladesh community with a shared future for the new era, elevating bilateral relations to a higher level.
Xi Jinping stated that China has always attached great importance to developing relations with Bangladesh and adheres to a policy of good-neighborliness and friendship with all Bangladeshi people. No matter how the international situation changes, China will remain committed to the direction of China-Bangladesh friendship and always be a trustworthy good friend, good neighbor, and good partner for Bangladesh. This year marks the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Looking back at history, we have united and led the Chinese people from poverty and weakness to successfully embarking on the path of Chinese-style modernization, relying on adhering to independence and self-reliance, and firmly grasping the destiny of national development and progress in our own hands. China supports Bangladesh in maintaining national independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and opposes external interference. China is willing to strengthen exchanges on governance experience with Bangladesh, enhance exchanges at all levels, deepen strategic communication, increase political mutual trust, and continue mutual support on issues involving each other's core interests and major concerns.
Xi Jinping emphasized that China adheres to the policy of building a harmonious, safe, and prosperous neighborhood and the principle of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit, and inclusiveness, continuously providing new opportunities and momentum to neighboring countries with China's new development. China supports the smooth governance of Bangladesh's new government and is willing to work with Bangladesh to build the Belt and Road with high quality, deeply align development strategies, exchange development experiences, plan key cooperation in an orderly manner, tap cooperation potential in green, low-carbon, digital economy, information technology, artificial intelligence and other fields, carry out exchanges in medical care, culture, education, and local areas, advance the construction of the China-Myanmar-Bangladesh Economic Corridor, and strengthen regional connectivity. China is willing to strengthen communication and collaboration with Bangladesh in multilateral frameworks such as the United Nations, jointly promote an equal and orderly multipolar world and a universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization, and better safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of China and Bangladesh and the common interests of the Global South.
Prime Minister Tarique congratulated the Communist Party of China on its 105th anniversary, stating that China is a great country and has always occupied an important position in Bangladesh's foreign policy. It is a partner that Bangladesh cherishes and trusts. He expressed pleasure that bilateral relations have been elevated to the new level of a Bangladesh-China community with a shared future for the new era. Under the strong leadership of President Xi Jinping, China has achieved great development, and Chinese-style modernization is a model for Bangladesh to learn from. Bangladesh hopes to strengthen inter-party exchanges with China, jointly build the Belt and Road, and enhance cooperation and exchanges in areas such as trade, connectivity, agriculture, science and technology, green energy, education, and health, helping Bangladesh achieve modernization. Bangladesh firmly adheres to the One-China principle, considers Taiwan an inalienable part of China, opposes any form of "Taiwan independence," and resolutely upholds the authority of UN General Assembly Resolution 2758. President Xi Jinping's vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind and the four major global initiatives are of great significance to maintaining world peace and development and international fairness and justice. Bangladesh fully supports China and is willing to strengthen coordination and cooperation with China in international and regional affairs, jointly safeguarding the outcomes of World War II victory and the international order centered on the United Nations.
