Zug – Zuger Kantonalbank is relying on strength from within for its Wealth Management: the Executive Board has appointed Alex Müller as the new Head of Private Banking. The experienced business economist has been working for the bank as Chief Investment Officer and Head of Investment Office for 16 years and will further expand and develop the division in a future-oriented manner as part of the “gemeinsamzumziel2029” strategy.

With Alex Müller, an experienced internal manager has taken over the leadership of Private Banking at Zuger Kantonalbank as of June 15, 2026. He succeeds Marcel Wespi, who has decided to bring his long-standing expertise back into client advisory. Together with the Private Banking team, Alex Müller will further strengthen the offering for wealthy clients.

Alex Müller has been working at Zuger Kantonalbank since 2010 and has broad technical expertise and many years of leadership experience in asset management. In his previous role as Chief Investment Officer and Head of Investment Office, he was responsible for the strategic direction of the bank’s investment policy. During his 16-year tenure in this function, Alex Müller, among other things, built up the bank's own Investment Office and successfully developed it further.

Before joining Zuger Kantonalbank, Alex Müller held various positions in asset management at Bank Sarasin & Co. AG, including as a portfolio manager for equity funds. Most recently, he worked in Private Banking Portfolio Management there and developed the offering in the area of sustainable investments. Alex Müller began his career as an analyst at Accenture AG in Zurich. He is a certified ESG (CESGA) and International Investment Analyst (CIIA), studied business economics at the University of St. Gallen (HSG), and completed an executive program at INSEAD in Paris.
