At least one killed in Russian ballistic missile strike on Kyiv

A Russian ballistic missile attack on Kyiv early Sunday killed at least one person and injured seven others, causing fires and damage across five districts.

Russian missile attack on Kyiv with one dead and injured – Damage and fires in many districts

Russia continues to launch long-range missiles and drones.

A new fierce missile attack hit Kyiv in the early morning hours, with Ukrainian authorities reporting one dead and seven injured. The explosions caused extensive damage to buildings and vehicles, and fires broke out in various parts of the capital.

According to Ukrainian military and civilian authorities, the attack caused severe damage in several areas of the city. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Air Force and the Kyiv military administration issued successive warnings from 01:20 (Greek time) onwards, informing about launches of Russian missiles.

Fires in buildings and strikes in five districts

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said via Telegram that fires broke out in a dormitory, an apartment building and a supermarket. He announced that the attacks hit a total of five districts of the Ukrainian capital.

In addition to these specific buildings, other building facilities and storage spaces in the path of the Russian missiles also suffered damage.

Attacks continue almost daily

Russia continues to launch long-range missiles and drones against Kyiv almost every day since the start of the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

The new missile attack came a day after the Ukrainian drone raid on two warehouses of Russian logistics companies, in which at least eight people were killed.
