Technology empowers sports, and intelligence lights up the future. On the morning of July 4, the 2026 "China Cycling Map" Series · Beijing Station and the Beijing Laoshan Smart Track Launch Ceremony was grandly held at the Beijing Laoshan National Cycling Experience Park. This marks a key step in the digital and intelligent transformation of China's traditional cycling infrastructure, exploring a path of technological innovation for comprehensively advancing the national fitness strategy and building a higher-level public service system for national fitness in the new era.

In his speech at the launch ceremony, Yao Yingchun, Deputy Director of the Cycling and Fencing Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, pointed out that the launch of the Laoshan Smart Track is a concrete implementation of the center's in-depth implementation of the Party Central Committee's strategic deployment of "sports power" and "healthy China," a practical measure to share the achievements of competitive sports with the people, and a positive response to "improving people's health levels" and "satisfying the people's aspirations for a better life." Yao emphasized that the simultaneous launch of the "Laoshan Smart Track" mini-program, relying on the smart track, truly breaks down the barriers between professionals and the public, allowing every ordinary cycling enthusiast to connect to national-level events and scientific service ecosystems through a digital platform, making the Laoshan base a truly open, smart public service demonstration window for national fitness, and establishing a standardized smart cycling track construction and regulation system applicable nationwide.

As a co-constructor of the smart track, Yang Xianjin, Chairman of Dongguan Mentech Optical & Magnetic Co., Ltd., stated in his speech that Mentech and its "Meitan" team have always adhered to the concept of "innovative technology, low-carbon life." This time, they worked closely with the Cycling and Fencing Center and the Chinese Cycling Association, overcoming many technical difficulties to provide intelligent upgrades for public cycling with the power of technology. With the official start of the men's elite group race of the 2026 "China Cycling Map" Series · Beijing Station, the event kicked off. As a core strategic brand carefully built by the Chinese Cycling Association nationwide, the "China Cycling Map" aims to connect the finest cycling routes with the most cultural heritage, natural scenery, and sports value across the country through a digital network, building an integrated online and offline ecosystem serving tens of millions of cycling enthusiasts.

It is reported that the event will last for two days, featuring a variety of events including individual road races, team time trials (TTT), BMX races, steep slope challenges, family parent-child races, and obstacle challenges, interspersed with activities such as big-name cycling sharing sessions and slow wheel workshops, among other cycling culture experiences. The full launch of the Laoshan Smart Track not only provides a national "smart sports" landmark integrating professional training, high-level competitions, technology experiences, national fitness, and cultural tourism and leisure for the whole society, but also injects vigorous digital vitality into the cultural tourism and sports consumption in western Beijing.
