Joburg City Power has assured customers that its working around the clock to restore electricity to several areas.

The utility said wet weather conditions in some parts are affecting restoration times urging customers to be patient.

On Friday the utility said it will attend to a little under three thousand calls logged by customers amid persistent harsh weather

Spokesperson Isaac Mangena urged customers to use electricity sparingly.

"Switch off appliances during outages. Restoration remains a priority for city power, and we thank customers for their patience as we continue working to restore the supply to all the residents of Johannesburg".
