Sber and the Sber2B business group, together with the Administration of Suzdal, have launched payment for city parking in Suzdal based on the GeoPay service from Sber2B, with 2GIS as the technology partner. Suzdal became the first city in Russia to use this development.
Drivers no longer need to search for parking meters or top up a separate wallet in a mobile app: upon entering the paid zone, they can pay for parking directly in the 2GIS navigation app. More than a thousand parking spaces are already connected to the system, operated by the Municipal Institution "Parking Space of the City of Suzdal."
At the same time, Sber, Sber2B, and Vladicard launched payment for bus fares by geolocation in Suzdal, Vladimir Region. The project was presented at the forum "Digitalization of Transport Infrastructure for Tourist Routes of the Golden Ring of Russia."
The technology operates via the 2GIS app. A passenger simply opens the "Travel" menu, selects the desired route, and presses the "Pay fare" button. The app automatically determines the user's location, shows suitable routes with current fares, and debits the money from a bank card or via SberPay. An electronic ticket is issued immediately after payment.
The presented technologies align with the Strategy for Digital Transformation of the Transport Industry until 2030 (the "Green Digital Corridor for Passengers" project) and the goals of the National Project "Tourism and Hospitality Industry" until 2035.
"We want trips to Suzdal and the Golden Ring to leave only pleasant impressions. Our task is to make life easier for residents and tourists by removing unnecessary barriers. This is a step towards the future of the urban environment, which will make the city even more hospitable. So that everyone can enjoy the trip without being distracted by everyday trifles—and take away only warm memories," said Mikhail Chachin, Vice President, Director of the Department for Work with the Public Sector at Sberbank.
"Even before the 1000th anniversary, we understood that Suzdal would be a pilot for the region in forming modern tourist infrastructure and service levels, and then we will extend this experience to other territories. Now Suzdal is the first among the cities of the 'Golden Ring' to try Sber's digital travel technologies. We thank our partners for the right of primacy," commented Alexander Avdeev, Governor of the Vladimir Region.
"The demonstration of new digital services in Suzdal represents an important step in the development of Russia's transport industry. Despite active road construction and reconstruction under national projects, travelers face fragmented information and a lack of a unified digital space for route planning. In this regard, the digitalization projects presented in Suzdal are becoming necessary tools that build a bridge between physical infrastructure and real user needs," said Boris Tashimov, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation.
