Hanoi Announces 100-Year Master Plan at Major Investment Conference

Hanoi held a conference on June 29 to unveil its Capital Master Plan with a 100-year vision, attracting over 1,000 delegates and hundreds of investors.

On the morning of June 29, the Hanoi People's Committee held a conference to announce the Hanoi Capital Master Plan with a 100-year vision and investment promotion for 2026.

The conference to announce the Capital Master Plan with a 100-year vision and investment promotion for 2026, with the participation of about 1,000-1,200 delegates, including about 580-780 domestic and foreign investors and enterprises.

At the conference, Hanoi will issue investment policy decisions, investment registration certificates for projects in the area, and sign memorandums of understanding with domestic and foreign corporations and economic organizations.

Within the framework of the conference, Hanoi arranges an area to introduce the Hanoi Capital Master Plan with a 100-year vision, displaying a system of sand tables combined with 3D Mapping projection technology, introductory videos, and planning maps that will visualize major development directions, thereby vividly depicting the new spatial structure of the capital.

The announcement of the Hanoi Capital Master Plan with a 100-year vision also takes place at the Hanoi Museum, which is an exhibition space serving the people and businesses, combining the announcement of the project simultaneously with an exhibition space to widely inform the people and businesses.

Floor 1 (central area) of the Hanoi Museum arranges a round sand table of the master plan (7m in diameter) fully updated with new boundary contents of the 100-year project.

Floor 4, with an area of about 1,200m2, is designed as a solemn exhibition space, displaying a sand table applying 3D mapping projection technology, vividly and visually showing planning directions.

This area also arranges a system of large panels displaying Hanoi's planning through periods tied to the history of development and expansion of the capital's administrative boundaries, maps of urban space development orientation, technical infrastructure system of the whole city; land use maps of urban areas and functional zones.

In addition, the museum also displays drawings and models of some typical city projects; organizes a screening area for 3D documentary films on planning and experience with the experimental planning information retrieval system of Hanoi.

An important milestone in the development process of the Capital

On the afternoon of June 28, inspecting the conference preparation, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Dai Thang emphasized that the conference has special significance, not just an ordinary investment promotion conference, but also marks the beginning of a new development phase for the Capital.

This is the first time after a long period that Hanoi organizes a large-scale investment promotion conference; at the same time, it is the first conference held in the context of the city entering a new development phase with full political, legal, and strategic orientation foundations, from Central resolutions, the Capital Law 2026 to the Hanoi Capital Master Plan with a 100-year vision officially announced at the conference.

"The significance of this conference goes beyond an ordinary investment promotion event. This is an important milestone in the socio-economic development of the Capital. Therefore, I hope all units focus the highest efforts so that the program truly makes an impression and has clear innovations compared to previous investment promotion events," said the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee.

Mr. Tran Quang Tuyen, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Planning and Architecture, believes that the people and investors need to correctly understand the essence of this plan at the macro level and strategic orientation.

According to Mr. Tuyen, this plan is a strategic orientation project consisting of two core parts: the drawing dossier of diagrams and orientations, and the planning management regulations.

The drawing dossier of this project is presented at the general planning level (development framework). Mr. Tuyen said that the project only establishes a macro-strategic spatial development structure such as the location of driving regions, major centers, economic development corridor axes, or the urban infrastructure framework, urban development areas, rural areas...

The representative of the Hanoi Department of Planning and Architecture affirmed that detailed contents will be concretized in the stage of zoning planning and construction investment projects.
