The "Damen" Mangalia shipyard has been officially put up for sale by the company's judicial liquidator, with a starting price of 184.04 million euros plus VAT, equal to the value established by appraisal.

The first competitive auction session, with ascending price, will take place on June 29, with the registration deadline on June 26. The participation guarantee is 10% of the starting price, and the tender specifications, which must be purchased by those interested in participating in the auction, cost 10,000 euros plus VAT.

The sale of the functional asset of the shipyard as a whole is envisaged, which includes land, buildings, installations, equipment, inventory items, stocks, and accommodation units.

The majority shareholder of the bankrupt company Damen Shipyards Mangalia, the state-owned company Șantierul Naval "2 Mai" SA, controlled by the Ministry of Economy, accuses the minority shareholder, Damen Holding BV, which is also the company's largest creditor, of wanting to undermine the sale of assets. Those at Damen reject the accusation as completely unfounded and "speculative," stating that they only want to recover as much as possible from their claims.
