Saltillo, Coah.- Las Encinas, municipality of Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila de Zaragoza, June 10, 2026.- With the aim of strengthening the economy of rural families and promoting food self-sufficiency, the Municipal Government of Ramos Arizpe continues to deliver backyard poultry to the ejidos of the municipality, a program that has already reached 85 percent coverage of rural communities, with 18,000 birds delivered.

Tomás Gutiérrez Merino, mayor of Ramos Arizpe, stated that these actions allow families to produce food for their own consumption and generate additional income through the sale of eggs, thus contributing to improving their quality of life.

He also highlighted that this effort is possible thanks to the joint work between the Municipal Government and the State Government led by Manolo Jiménez Salinas, an alliance that allows more productive support to be brought to the rural communities of Ramos Arizpe.

“We want families in the countryside to have more tools to get ahead. This program helps them produce food at home, save on their daily expenses, and in many cases, obtain extra income for their household,” he said.

The Director of Rural Development, Marybell Georgina Marty Garza, reported that since the beginning of the program, approximately 18,000 birds have been delivered in the rural area of the municipality.

Just this Wednesday, 1,600 birds were distributed during a work tour that included Las Encinas, as well as the communities of Landeros, San Gregorio, and Ojo Caliente.

The delivery of this session directly benefits 160 families, who will be able to use the birds for egg production intended both for self-consumption and for commercialization.
