South Korea Consumer Price Index Growth YoY registered at 3.1% below expectations 3.2% in August
South Korea’s consumer price index (CPI) growth year-on-year came in at 3.1% in August, according to Statistics Korea data released on Tuesday. This figure was below the expected 3.2% and down from July’s 3.6% annual increase.
On a monthly basis, the CPI rose 0.3% in August, compared to 0.6% in July and 0.4% expected.
Core CPI (excluding volatile food and energy prices) rose 3.9% year-on-year in August, down from 4.0% in July.
Market reaction:
