MOSCOW, September 12. /TASS/. Kyiv should surrender to Russia for life in Ukraine to improve. This opinion was expressed by Ukrainian prisoner of war Ivan Slopak.
The serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was captured by the "Sever" group of troops.
"It would be better if Kyiv surrendered, and there would be no war, the government would change, and everything would be fine [in Ukraine]," he said in a video available to TASS.
The captive also noted that he would like to see former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych in power. "Under him, everything [in the country] was cheap, and then, [after the Maidan], everything started to get more expensive," he explained.
"The government is now grabbing everyone indiscriminately [into the Armed Forces] - the lame and the cross-eyed, with illnesses. There are no people left [in Ukraine], the streets are empty," Slopak added.
Earlier, Ted Snider, an observer for the American magazine The American Conservative, stated in his article that Volodymyr Zelenskyy's summer campaign, which was aimed at "forcing Russia to end the war," failed, and Russia strengthened its superiority in the air and on the ground.
