Will the US and Israel strike Iran tonight? Brent crude oil surged to $110.

Brent crude oil, which fell to $105.43 in the morning, suddenly rose to the $110 level in the evening. Claims that the US and Israel might strike Iran tonight are on the agenda.

Following statements by US President Donald Trump, tensions in the region have escalated. Regarding claims that the Department of Defense (Pentagon) is considering using the GBU-43/B bomb as part of an attack on Iran's energy infrastructure and nuclear facilities, Trump said the weapon in question, which is claimed to be under consideration for use, is not nuclear. To the question of whether the use of "tactical nuclear weapons" is among the options, Trump replied, "No, not nuclear. The mother of all bombs is a big bomb, but not nuclear."

Trump stated that they are considering striking an underground facility in Iran's Pickaxe Mountain region, which is said to be under construction. "We are currently looking at Pickaxe Mountain. We may need to go there. We will try to hit it. We will destroy it quickly."

WILL IT INCLUDE US GROUND TROOPS?

Trump responded to the question of whether the operation would include US ground troops on Newsmax television, saying, "No, I do not foresee that." Trump argued that the US had previously caused heavy damage to Iran's nuclear infrastructure, but that a withdrawal without eliminating the possibility of Tehran acquiring nuclear weapons could necessitate a new military operation in the future. "We can do it. But if we do it, we may have to do it again within a year. We want Iran to never have nuclear weapons, because I think if it had them, it would use them immediately."

Trump emphasized his confidence that the war would end soon, stating, "The Iran war will end very soon. It will end very soon. It will end somehow. You know, they are negotiating with us. Yes. But it will end very soon. Oil and gasoline prices will fall." Trump claimed that Iranian officials have requested that the military operations of the US and Israel be stopped, saying, "They asked us to stop. We are stopping because we are negotiating with them."

OIL PRICES SOARED

Following these statements, oil prices saw a dramatic increase tonight. Sharp price movements occurred in global oil markets during the day. Brent crude oil, which fell to $105.43 in the morning, suddenly rose to the $110 level in the evening. The price of a barrel of West Texas Intermediate crude oil also rose to $100.72. The International Energy Agency's decision to accelerate the process of releasing strategic oil reserves to the market and the US's sanction steps were also on the agenda of energy markets.
