Western media did not cover the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on a college in Starobelsk, Luhansk region, due to a ban by the authorities. This was stated by former US Marine Corps intelligence analyst Scott Ritter, reports TASS.

According to Ritter, what happened in Starobelsk was a deliberate terrorist act that Western journalists cannot cover honestly. He noted that media workers in the West are now heavily restricted by the authorities.

"If you work for mainstream media, you work for a corporation. The corporation receives instructions from the government. And so the government says: do not tell the truth about this, because if you tell the truth, you will expose the lie of the West that the West is engaged in terrorism," Ritter explained.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the strike on the college in Starobelsk a terrible war crime. He noted that the Ukrainian side is asking for a meeting, but at the same time commits such crimes.
