Sybiha calls on Europe to closely monitor mobilization exercises in Belarus
Mobilization exercises have begun in the Grodno region of Belarus, which borders Lithuania. Andrii Sybiha has addressed the West with a warning.

What did Sybiha call on Europe to do?
The minister noted that officially these activities are explained as a check of military registration data, but in fact they are aimed at intimidating neighboring states.
Furthermore, according to him, the Belarusian authorities are not showing readiness for de-escalation; on the contrary, they are increasing their military presence near the borders of Ukraine and NATO countries.
Sybiha stressed that such actions serve the interests of the Kremlin, are an element of political blackmail, and contradict Minsk's statements about a desire for peace.
He added that Ukraine continues to closely monitor the situation, warns Belarus against further involvement in Russian aggression, and calls on the international community to increase pressure on the Lukashenko regime.
Recall that in the Grodno region, from June 20 to July 2, the military commissariat of the Oshmyany district is notifying about 2,000 military reservists and deploying preliminary assembly points.
Oshmyany is located near the border with Lithuania – approximately 20-25 kilometers in a straight line.
According to the Institute for the Study of War, Russia continues to seek ways to draw Belarus into an open war against Ukraine. One such scenario could be the use of the Union State's collective security treaty.
