Egypt to Sign 15 Health Cooperation Protocols at Africa Health ExCon 2026

The fifth edition of the Africa Health ExCon will see the signing of 15 protocols focusing on medical tourism, digital transformation, and health technology.

The General Authority for Healthcare, chaired by Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Head of the Healthcare Authority and General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project, is participating in the activities of the fifth edition of the Africa Health ExCon 2026 conference and exhibition, held from June 15 to 18, 2026.

This comes within the framework of enhancing Egypt's pivotal role in supporting and developing the healthcare sector in the African continent, and opening new horizons for cooperation and investment in health and medical fields.

Development of the Comprehensive Health Insurance System

The Authority is organizing 10 discussion sessions during the conference, during which it will showcase its pioneering experience in comprehensive health coverage, its efforts in supporting health awareness programs, digital transformation, and health innovation, reflecting the development of the comprehensive health insurance system in Egypt. The Authority participates with an integrated technological pavilion in the accompanying exhibition, which has witnessed significant turnout from visitors since its launch, to learn about the Egyptian experience in developing health services and medical technology applications.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Head of the General Authority for Healthcare, also participates in a number of high-level discussion sessions, along with holding meetings with leaders of the public and private health sectors in Egypt and Africa, where he reviews the pioneering Egyptian experience in comprehensive health coverage, and the Authority's efforts in supporting health innovation and raising the efficiency and quality of medical services, emphasizing the importance of partnerships with the private sector as a fundamental pillar for developing the health system, enhancing investment in the health sector, accelerating technology transfer, and expanding the scope of digital transformation within the health sector.

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky pointed out that it is scheduled to sign 15 cooperation protocols on the sidelines of the conference activities, in the fields of medical tourism, digital transformation, health technology, and developing advanced healthcare services, which enhances opportunities for health integration and investment in the health sector in the African continent.

This year, the Africa Health ExCon conference and exhibition is the largest health and investment platform in the African continent, bringing together an elite group of decision-makers, leaders of the medical sector, representatives of international institutions, and companies specialized in pharmaceutical industries, medical equipment, and health technology, to discuss ways to develop health systems and enhance cooperation between the continent's countries.

The conference reflects the pivotal role Egypt plays in supporting efforts to develop the healthcare sector in the African continent, and consolidating its position as a leading regional center in the fields of medical services and pharmaceutical industries.

The conference also aims to support the path of African health security, exchange successful experiences and expertise, enhance investment opportunities in the health sector, in addition to discussing the latest developments in the fields of medical technology, digital transformation, and health innovation, in line with the objectives of the African Union's Agenda 2063 and Egypt's Vision 2030 for sustainable development.
