The new statement contradicts Trump's loud threats

The United States will not abandon its European allies if Russia launches an invasion of the Baltic states. All NATO members are already actively preparing to repel a potential enemy attack.

This statement was made by the US commander of NATO ground forces in Europe, Chris Donahue, according to Reuters.

The day before, a new NATO command for forces in the Baltic states was presented in Estonia.

Against this backdrop, Chris Donahue decided to reassure US allies. He emphasized that American soldiers are ready to fight side by side with Europeans if Russia starts a war.

"The United States will stand with you. This is how deterrence is built: not with words from a podium, but with soldiers whose boots are stuck in the mud," the commander assured.

Incidentally, this statement by Chris Donahue contradicts recent threats from Donald Trump. The US President had frightened Europe, saying that it would be left alone against the Russian army in the event of an invasion.

Despite this, NATO is preparing for various scenarios. For example, the Alliance has already created a second command zone in the Baltic states and Poland.

This decision allowed for the transfer of even more NATO troops to the borders with Russia.

"This is a clear and convincing demonstration of NATO's unity and readiness, as well as our collective determination to defend every inch of allied territory," commented German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius on this step.
